Board of Directors Election - Winter 2025
Vote in our winter election for our Board of Directors! We will add THREE members to our board this month and use rank-choice voting. See our nominees and voting information below.
First, thank you to everyone who nominated these folks to serve on our board. Second, thank you to the following people for accepting the nomination and running for our board. We appreciate your time, dedication, and commitment to LHTC!
Finally, please support each other and remain positive no matter who gets elected. We all share the common goal of growing and improving LHTC and serving our community.
Here’s a description of the role: This person should embody the LHTC culture and lead by serving others. They will be the voice of the membership and vote on important motions. They should be an active member of the team and will help drive the direction of LHTC.

I have a passion to maintain active members. You don’t truly belong until you’re missed, so following up with teammates who haven’t been as regular is one way to show as much support off the track as on.

We are using rank-choice voting!
See below for information on how rank choice voting works. For a demo and more information, head here.
How do "rounds" work?
A "round" is the process of determining if there's a ranked-choice winner, and, if not, eliminating the lowest vote getters.
In Round 1, all first-choice votes are added up. If no choice gets a majority in Round 1, then the lowest vote getter is eliminated. Anyone who voted for the eliminated choice has their vote count for their next ranked choice in the following round. This continues for as many rounds as are needed to determine a winner.
How was “votes to win” calculated?
For single-winner contests, it’s all about getting to majority support. That means 50% of the vote plus one. There were 54 voters in this contest, so the number of votes needed to win a majority is 28.
How did the eliminations happen?
Ranked-choice voting is about determining which choice has majority support. If no choice gets a majority outright, the lowest vote getter is eliminated. Those who voted for the eliminated choice have their votes redistributed to their next highest ranked choice in the following round.
How are ties handled?
If two (or more) choices have the same number of votes at the end of a round, RankedVote looks at how all voters ranked each of those choices. The choice with the least support amongst all voters is eliminated.
